Relax your posture
A layback is a climbing technique where you lean your body away from a vertical edge or crack while pulling with your hands and pushing with your feet against the rock face, creating opposing forces that keep you on the wall.
In figure skating, a layback spin has the skater arching backward while rotating.
The term also appears in skateboarding and surfing for moves involving a backward lean.
