driven

Pushed to succeed

Driven describes someone powerfully motivated to achieve, often to an unusual degree: She's incredibly driven—works eighteen-hour days.

The word suggests ambition that comes from within, sometimes obsessively.

As a past participle of drive, driven also describes things propelled or operated by a force: wind-driven turbines, a character-driven story, snow driven sideways by the wind.
