lateral malleolus

Fibula's lower bump

The lateral malleolus is the bony prominence on the outside of the ankle—the lower end of the fibula, the smaller of the two lower leg bones.

It forms the outer knob you can feel and see at the ankle joint.

The corresponding bump on the inner ankle is the medial malleolus.
