Kungfu, also spelled kung fu, refers to Chinese martial arts traditions encompassing hundreds of fighting styles developed over centuries.
The term literally means "skill achieved through hard work" in Cantonese, and can technically apply to any discipline requiring dedication, though in English it almost exclusively means martial arts.
Kungfu gained Western popularity through Bruce Lee films in the 1970s and remains associated with dramatic choreographed combat.
She's been studying kungfu since childhood.
