fairy penguin
Tiny blue seabird
A fairy penguin is the smallest penguin species, standing about a foot tall, native to the coastlines of southern Australia and New Zealand.
The name comes from their diminutive size and bluish-gray plumage, which gives them a somewhat magical appearance.
Also called little penguins or, in New Zealand, little blue penguins.
