skua
Gull-like polar predator
A skua is a large, powerful seabird known for aggressive behavior—chasing other birds to steal their food and attacking intruders near nesting sites.
Skuas are found in polar and subpolar regions, with species in both the Arctic and Antarctic.
They resemble dark, heavy-bodied gulls: A skua harassed the puffin until it dropped its fish.
