kerbstone

Pavement boundary stone

Kerbstone is the British spelling of curbstone—one of the blocks of stone or concrete that form a kerb (or curb), the raised edge along a street that separates the roadway from the pavement or sidewalk.

Kerbstones provide a physical barrier to keep vehicles from driving onto pedestrian areas and help channel rainwater into drainage systems.

The car jumped the kerbstone and mounted the pavement.
