Road's middle strip
The central reservation is the strip of land dividing opposite lanes of traffic on a highway or motorway—what Americans call a median or median strip.
It may be grass, concrete barriers, or simply painted lines.
British usage: The lorry crossed the central reservation and struck oncoming traffic.
