jibsheet
Foresail trimming line
A jibsheet is a rope that controls the jib—a triangular sail at the front of a sailboat.
The sheet attaches to the lower corner of the jib and allows the sailor to adjust the sail's angle to the wind: Ease the jibsheet as we come about.
Often spelled as two words: jib sheet.
