inverters
DC-to-AC converters
Inverters is the plural of inverter, a device that converts direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC).
Solar panels and batteries produce DC power, but most household appliances require AC, so inverters bridge that gap: The solar installation includes two inverters.
In electronics, an inverter can also be a logic gate that outputs the opposite of its input.
