inverted pentagram
Point-down five-star
An inverted pentagram is a five-pointed star oriented with one point downward and two points upward, the reverse of the standard pentagram.
In Western occultism, this orientation became associated with Satanism and black magic during the 19th century, appearing prominently in the sigil of Baphomet used by the Church of Satan.
The distinction between upright and inverted pentagrams carries symbolic weight mainly among practitioners of Western esoteric traditions: The album cover featured an inverted pentagram.
