PWM

Digital analog simulation

PWM stands for pulse-width modulation, a technique for controlling power delivery by rapidly switching a signal on and off.

The ratio of on-time to off-time (the duty cycle) determines the average power output.

PWM dims LEDs, controls motor speeds, and converts digital signals to analog-like outputs: The fan speed is controlled by PWM.

Common in electronics and embedded systems.
