speed control
Pace management system
Speed control refers to mechanisms or systems that regulate velocity.
In vehicles, speed control often means cruise control—a feature maintaining constant speed without continuous accelerator pressure: I set the speed control at seventy for the highway.
The term also applies to any device governing motor or machine speed: The fan has a three-position speed control.
