intersexuals
Both-sexed biological persons
Intersexuals are people born with sex characteristics—chromosomes, hormones, or anatomy—that don't fit typical definitions of male or female.
The term functions as a noun for what the adjective *intersex* describes.
Some in the intersex community prefer *intersex people* to *intersexuals*, finding the latter clinical or othering: Intersexuals have long faced pressure to undergo "normalizing" surgeries.
