impose
Thrust on others
To impose is to establish or apply something by authority or force: impose a tax, impose sanctions, impose martial law.
The word extends to forcing oneself or one's presence on others: I don't want to impose.
To impose on someone is to take advantage of their goodwill: She's always imposing on her neighbors.
