obtrude

Thrust oneself forward

To obtrude is to thrust forward uninvited or unwelcome—to impose oneself or one's opinions where they're not wanted: He obtruded his views on everyone at the party.

Things can also obtrude by becoming impossible to ignore: The noise obtruded on her concentration.
