condone
Let it slide
Condone means to accept or overlook behavior that is wrong or objectionable, often by failing to take action against it.
It does not imply approval so much as a willingness to let something slide: The school cannot condone cheating, even when students are under pressure.
Condone often appears in negative constructions emphasizing what someone refuses to tolerate: I don't condone violence, but I understand the frustration.
