hyperthermia
Body temperature crisis
Hyperthermia is dangerously elevated body temperature, typically above 104°F (40°C).
Unlike fever, where the body deliberately raises its temperature to fight infection, hyperthermia results from external heat or failed cooling mechanisms—heat stroke being the most severe form.
Medical treatment may induce controlled hyperthermia to damage cancer cells: The tumor responded well to hyperthermia therapy.
