housing estates
Planned neighborhood clusters
Housing estates are planned residential developments, typically built as unified projects with similar architectural styles.
The term is primarily British, referring to large clusters of houses or apartment blocks, often constructed by local authorities or developers: They grew up on a council housing estate in Manchester.
In American English, the equivalent concepts are subdivisions or housing projects.
