ambulation
Moving on foot
Ambulation is the medical and technical term for walking or moving about.
It appears most often in healthcare contexts, where a patient's ability to ambulate—or inability to do so—matters for treatment and recovery.
The physical therapist assessed her ambulation after the hip replacement.
Outside clinical settings, the simpler walk almost always serves better.
