sensory loss
Diminished bodily awareness
Sensory loss is diminished or absent function in one or more senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste, or smell.
The term appears in medical contexts describing conditions from partial hearing loss to complete blindness: Age-related sensory loss affects many elderly patients.
Sensory loss may be congenital, result from injury or disease, or develop gradually over time.
