hypertonia
Excessive muscle tension
Hypertonia is a medical condition of abnormally high muscle tone—muscles that are too tense and resistant to movement.
It results from damage to the brain or spinal cord, appearing in conditions like cerebral palsy, stroke, or multiple sclerosis.
The opposite condition, abnormally low muscle tone, is hypotonia.
