flaccid paralysis
Floppy muscle failure
Flaccid paralysis is loss of muscle function accompanied by loss of muscle tone—the affected limbs hang limp and feel soft rather than rigid.
It results from damage to the lower motor neurons or peripheral nerves, distinguishing it from spastic paralysis, where muscles become stiff.
The virus attacked his spinal cord, leaving him with flaccid paralysis of both legs.
