guy line
Stabilizing tent cord
A guy line is a rope or cable used to stabilize a structure by anchoring it to the ground.
Tents use guy lines to keep poles upright and fabric taut in wind.
Radio towers, circus tents, and ship masts all rely on guy lines for support.
