Hooked stretchy rope
A bungee cord is an elastic cord with hooks at each end, used for securing loads or creating tension.
The stretchy core, typically wrapped in a woven sheath, allows the cord to extend and snap back: I strapped the cooler to the roof rack with bungee cords.
Bungee jumping uses a much larger version attached to the ankles.
