grand master
Top chess title
A grand master is someone who has achieved the highest level of skill or rank in a particular domain.
In chess, it's the top title awarded to elite players.
In martial arts, it designates a master instructor of the highest degree.
The term also applies to the leader of certain fraternal organizations like the Freemasons: He was elected grand master of the lodge. (Capitalized Grand Master appears as an official title.)
