gat
Old slang pistol
Gat is an old past tense of get, now archaic except in biblical or deliberately antique contexts: He gat him hence.
Separately, gat is slang for a gun, especially a handgun, from Gatling gun: He pulled out a gat and started blasting.
The slang term appears frequently in rap lyrics and crime fiction.
