freebasers
Cocaine pipe smokers
Freebasers are people who smoke freebase cocaine—a purified form of the drug that has been chemically treated to make it smokable.
The term emerged in the 1980s alongside the crack cocaine epidemic, as freebasing became a common method of intensifying the drug's effects.
The clinic saw its share of freebasers and needle users.
