flying lemur

Southeast Asian glider

A flying lemur is neither a lemur nor capable of true flight.

It's a cat-sized mammal of Southeast Asian forests that glides between trees using a membrane of skin stretched between its limbs—the most accomplished gliding mammal, capable of covering over 100 meters in a single leap.

Also called colugo.
