koala
Australia's sleepy climber
A koala is a tree-dwelling Australian marsupial with gray fur, large round ears, and a black nose.
Koalas feed almost exclusively on eucalyptus leaves and sleep up to twenty hours a day.
Though often called koala bears, they are not bears—the name likely persists because of their round, bearlike appearance.
