rafflesia

Massive rotting bloom

Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic plants native to Southeast Asian rainforests, famous for producing the world's largest individual flowers—up to three feet across.

The flowers emit a powerful rotting-flesh odor to attract pollinating flies, earning them the nickname "corpse flower." The plant has no visible stems, leaves, or roots, existing mostly as threads within its host vine.
