Controlled flying region
Airspace is the portion of the atmosphere above a particular territory, treated as belonging to that territory's government.
Nations control their airspace and may restrict what flies through it: The plane violated Russian airspace.
The term also refers to the space above private property, or more loosely, to breathing room: Give me some airspace.
