radar contact
Detected object signature
Radar contact is a target detected and tracked on radar—an aircraft, ship, or other object appearing as a blip on the screen.
Air traffic controllers and military operators announce when they have radar contact with an aircraft, meaning they can see and monitor its position: Tower, I have radar contact with the inbound flight.
Loss of radar contact often signals trouble.
