elephant shrew
Long-nosed African mammal
Elephant shrews are small African mammals with long, flexible snouts resembling an elephant's trunk.
Despite the name, they're more closely related to elephants than to true shrews.
They're insectivores with large eyes, long legs, and a bounding gait.
Also called sengis.
