duelist
Challenger at dawn
A duelist is someone who fights duels—formal combats between two people, traditionally to settle disputes of honor.
The term evokes an earlier era of swords at dawn and pistols at ten paces: He fancied himself a duelist, though he'd never held a rapier.
In gaming contexts, a duelist is a player who specializes in one-on-one combat.
