designer
Form and function
A designer is someone who plans the form or structure of something before it's made—a fashion designer, graphic designer, interior designer.
The word emphasizes creative conception rather than construction.
As an adjective, designer describes expensive branded goods: designer jeans, designer handbags.
By extension, designer can modify anything custom-made or specially engineered: designer drugs, designer babies.
