data type
Integer or string
A data type specifies what kind of value a piece of data represents in programming—integer, string, boolean, floating-point number, and so on.
Data types determine what operations are valid: you can divide numbers but not text.
Languages vary in how strictly they enforce types; some require explicit declaration, others infer types automatically.
