file path
Where files live
A file path is the address specifying a file's location within a computer's directory structure.
It traces the route from a starting point through nested folders to the file itself: C:\Users\Documents\report.pdf on Windows, /home/user/documents/report.pdf on Unix systems.
An absolute path gives the complete location from the root; a relative path gives the location from the current directory.
Also called pathname or simply path.
