Untyped describes something that has not been typed—either not entered on a keyboard or, in computing, not assigned a data type.
In programming, untyped variables or languages don't require declaring whether data is a string, integer, or other type: JavaScript is a loosely typed language, while some older systems were completely untyped.
The word also simply means not typewritten: an untyped manuscript.
