cross-tabs
Variable comparison tables
Cross-tabs, short for cross-tabulations, are tables that display the relationship between two or more variables by showing how their values intersect.
In market research, polling, and social science, cross-tabs break down survey results by demographic categories: The cross-tabs showed younger voters favored the candidate while older voters opposed her.
The term appears most often in data analysis contexts where researchers want to see patterns across different segments of respondents.
