cowboys
Western saddle workers
Cowboys are workers who herd and tend cattle, traditionally on horseback across open range in the American West.
The term evokes a mythologized figure of rugged independence, featured endlessly in Western films and fiction.
Cowboys can also mean reckless operators: cowboy contractors cut corners, and cowboy diplomacy ignores established norms.
The Dallas Cowboys are an NFL team.
