console TV
Floor-standing television set
A console TV is a large television set housed in a freestanding wooden cabinet, designed as a piece of furniture rather than just an appliance.
Popular from the 1950s through the 1980s, these floor-standing units often featured ornate cabinetry and sometimes incorporated speakers, record players, or storage compartments.
My grandparents still had their old console TV in the living room.
The style became obsolete as televisions grew lighter and screens grew larger.
