Disc-spinning audio devices
A record player is a device that plays vinyl phonograph records by spinning them on a turntable while a stylus (needle) traces the grooves and converts the vibrations into sound.
Record players were the dominant way to listen to recorded music through most of the twentieth century before being largely displaced by digital formats.
They have experienced a revival among audiophiles and collectors who prefer the warm analog sound of vinyl.
She inherited her grandmother's record player and a box of old jazz albums.
