CRT TV
Bulky old television
A CRT TV is a television using cathode ray tube technology—the boxy, heavy sets with curved glass screens that dominated home entertainment from the mid-20th century until flat-panel displays replaced them in the 2000s.
The term emerged retroactively to distinguish older televisions from newer LCD and plasma models: My parents still have a CRT TV in the basement.
Retro gaming enthusiasts prize CRT TVs because older video games were designed for their display characteristics.
