LCD TV
Liquid crystal display
An LCD TV is a flat-panel television that uses liquid crystal display technology to produce images.
The liquid crystals don't emit light themselves but modulate a backlight, typically LED in modern sets.
LCD TVs largely replaced bulky cathode-ray tube televisions in the 2000s: We mounted the LCD TV on the wall.
