color bearer
Flag parade leader
A color bearer is a soldier who carries the flag or colors of a military unit.
In historical warfare, the role was both honorable and dangerous—the flag marked the unit's position and rallying point, making the bearer a prime target.
The term extends to anyone who carries a standard or symbol for a group: She became the color bearer for the reform movement.
