Data table division
A col is a mountain pass or the lowest point on a ridge between two peaks.
In meteorology, it refers to the saddle-shaped region of relatively low pressure between two highs and two lows.
The word comes from French and appears mainly in geographical and technical contexts: We crossed the col at dawn before the weather turned.
