Classroom student leader
A class monitor is a student assigned minor supervisory duties in a classroom—taking attendance, maintaining order when the teacher steps out, or distributing materials.
The role exists mainly in British and Commonwealth school systems, where it carries a small measure of authority and responsibility: She was chosen as class monitor for the term.
