chromolithograph

Multicolored stone print

A chromolithograph is a color print made by lithography, a printing process using stone or metal plates.

Popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries for reproducing artwork, advertisements, and decorative prints, chromolithography required a separate stone for each color, sometimes dozens for a single image.

The shortened form is chromo.
