chased
Went in pursuit
Chased is the past tense of chase—to pursue someone or something, typically to catch them: The dog chased the ball across the yard.
Beyond physical pursuit, chased applies to seeking goals aggressively: She chased her dreams to Hollywood.
To be chased off or away is to be driven out by pursuit.
Chased also describes metal decorated with engraved or embossed patterns—a different word entirely.
